The cultural package of Slavic nations brings three new playable factions to Total War: ATTILA. Antei, Sklaven and Venedians can be used in single-player or multiplayer campaign modes, as well as in user and multiplayer battles.
A hardy and agile people, Slavs are scattered throughout the ruined steppe to recreate and bring new life to the abandoned land. When conflict occurs, they unleash withering hail of poisonous arrows on their enemies. Whether diplomacy or conflict, they offer the perfect counter to the Hunnic threat and introduce a number of unique ways to play Total War: ATTILA in both campaign and battle.
Features
New buildings and victory conditions
The victory of the Slavic peoples requires the player to build Miracles from the new Legendary construction chain. The scale of victory (minor/regular/divine) and the type of victory (military/cultural) depend on the built Miracle, and players can continue to create various Miracles to achieve larger victory scales.
These Miracles, although very expensive to build and maintain, give ever more powerful provincial and factional bonuses and open up powerful new fighting abilities for Slavic units.
The new City Religion construction chain offers temples with numerous religious and civil bonuses and opens up the Last Stand battle ability to all Slavic units in the province.
Town Religion´s new network of buildings offers temples that improve growth and fertility in the province. Combined with their cultural immunity to snow abrasion, this allows Slavic countries to thrive more efficiently as the climate cools.
Slavic cultural traits
All factions in the Slavic cultural group benefit from the Hardy Warriors trait, which allows them to quickly recolonize the devastated provinces. Hardy Warriors provides the following bonuses:
Immunity from snow abrasion
Zero cost of colonization
50% discount on all major settlement buildings.
Poison shooters
A unique new type of ammunition available only to Slavic factions, poison arrows are the deadliest type of arrow in the game. Poisonous arrows cause the target to deplete and create damage over time. Ants can use heavy poison arrows with greatly enhanced negative effects on their targets.
Slavic peoples
Antei
Despite the fact that the Anteans are often considered to be shooting Wends, they fought with wild fury, creating both independence and their own identity. Ironically, they were saved from Gothic submission by the advancing Huns, who forced the Goths westward before they could establish full dominance over the Slavs. The dawn of the 5th century AD promises nothing but further chaos; the Huns continue marauding while the Roman Empire fights against them, desperately hoping to contain the tide as soon as they can. Against this background, the Ants are determined to prove themselves strong, to create a single Slavic power!
Wends
The true origin of the Wends is shrouded in confusion, the Romans incorrectly attribute them to the German people. With typical Roman snobbish arrogance, Ptolemy described their squalid living conditions and their "repulsive" appearance. Despite these harsh remarks, the Venetians survived, becoming so thick that they branched into two separate groups; East Roman scholars specifically mention the Wends as the "fathers" of many other Slavic peoples. Although considered a guiding light in the darkness of the coming 5th century AD, the path ahead will not be easy - the Huns, Romans and barbarians all encroach on the Venetian territory. But if they can hold on and never settle in front of the strong or desperate, they can rise to inherit the world beyond!
