Los Suenos - STATE OF EMERGENCY: Los Suenos Police Department Chief Galo Alvarez is on the air with an urgent update on the city´s status following Hurricane Antonio. The unprecedented Category 5 Hurricane Antonio has caused massive destruction and environmental damage. Severe winds and heavy rains have impacted much of the county. Patrol units have been put on alert, and checkpoints have been set up. Fire and rescue triage centers have been opened on the grounds of major hospitals where possible. Temporary shelters for the homeless are located outside the affected areas and on the slopes of the Sierra del Suenos. Looting has increased, and LSPD SWAT teams have been deployed as part of the disaster response.
Areas with confirmed cases of looting and civil unrest:
GREENSIDE – severe hurricane impacts.
PARK 213 – severe hurricane impacts.
REDWOOD – moderate hurricane impacts.
