Plot.

The game takes place during the Second World War, but with an emphasis on the Eastern Front. Players primarily control the Soviet Red Army at various stages of the Eastern Front, from Operation Barbarossa to the Battle of Berlin.


Some gameplay features in Company of Heroes 2:

Capture control points. The player has a starting base where new infantry units and equipment can be ordered. At the beginning of each mission, they draw up an action plan, and then they demand that orders be clearly followed.
Tactical action. At first, the player is given a limited amount of resources, so he has to act tactically: carefully lead troops from shelter to shelter, keep several types of units ready.
The "Theater of Military operations" mode. A series of single-player and cooperative missions detailing various aspects of the campaign on the Eastern Front from both the German and Soviet sides
Additional tasks. Bonuses in the form of reinforcements and third-party support are given for completion.
Simulation of weather conditions. For example, fighters (both their own and the enemy´s) can die from the cold, in order not to freeze, they will have to hide in buildings or warm up around a campfire.
