Red Barrels invites you to experience mind-boggling horror, this time with friends. Whether you take on the challenges alone or in a team, if you survive long enough and complete the therapy, Murkoff will gladly release you... but will you remain the same?
Set during the Cold War, human guinea pigs are unwittingly recruited by employees of the Murkoff Corporation to test advanced brainwashing and mind control techniques. In a world of mistrust, fear, and violence, your morals will be tested, your endurance will be tested, and your sanity will be broken. All in the name of progress, science, and profit.
SURVIVAL: ALONE OR CO-OP
You are all prisoners of Murkoff, locked in their complex. You can complete the trials alone or in a team of 2, 3, or 4 players.
In co-op mode, mandatory tasks are never mandatory, but working together can be very rewarding.
Regardless of the number of players in your group, the main thing is to survive and escape.
Ultimately, your goal is to complete Murkoff´s Therapy and earn the right to reenter society. To do this, you must complete the Trials and Murkoff´s Trials.
Trials are immersive, story-driven therapies that require a certain amount of time to complete. Murkoff´s Trials are shorter therapies that take place in modified or redesigned sections of the existing map.
HIDE OR RUN
In true Outlast style, the core gameplay revolves around avoiding enemies, hiding from them, and trying to escape. Murkoff provides you with tools you can use to enhance your stealth skills, create escape opportunities, slow enemies, and much more. However, you´ll have to earn these tools and work hard to upgrade them.
These tools will allow you to:
Stun enemies
Blind them
See through walls
Heal yourself and others.
In each challenge or MK challenge, Murkoff will ask you to complete challenging tasks. Only after completing them will you be allowed to exit the challenge or MK challenge.
