- In the mid-1950s, the ASTRON program was working on a replacement for the M67 flamethrower tank. The new vehicle was to feature enhanced protection and use a four-track chassis. The tank´s estimated weight was up to 50 tons, and an electric transmission system was planned.
- Development of this vehicle, designated Astron-FL, was never completed. The main reason was the loss of relevance of the ASTRON program itself, which had lost its viability by the late 1950s.
