This massive update introduces four alternative civilizations with unique gameplay mechanics and a new single-player mode that reimagines the core concepts of Age of Empires IV. Dynasties of the East also includes eight unique maps and six captivating biomes, sure to add variety to both single-player and multiplayer play.
Four Civilizations Inspired by History
Conquer the battlefield and apply new strategies as you play as new civilization variants with unique units and technologies inspired by famous Eastern dynasties.
• Golden Horde (Mongol variant): Escape the complexities of nomadic life by founding a centralized state under the leadership of a battle-hardened khan and his elite guard. Build obo, train massive armies, and make key strategic decisions in the khan´s golden tent. Gather your troops and prepare to rush into battle!
• Macedonian Dynasty (Byzantine Civilization Variant): Lead an army of Varangians—powerful foreigners—and fight under the banner of the Macedonian Dynasty. This civilization, which flourished under the reign of Basil II, utilizes unique resources and technologies to fuel rapid development and conquest. The Macedonian Dynasty´s efficient economy allows it to strengthen its armies through the production and sale of silver.
• Sengoku Daimyo (Japanese Civilization Variant): Rewrite the history of your clan during the Sengoku Period, a time of fragmentation. Pledge allegiance to one of the rival houses—Takeda, Oda, or Hojo—each providing unique bonuses, warriors, and technologies. Customize your civilization´s development with special daimyo estates, which help strengthen your chosen faction´s influence and diversify your strategy. • Tughlaq Dynasty (Delhi Sultanate variant): Lead a great and long-lasting dynasty, achieving success through skillful politics. The new governorship system allows you to appoint governors, each with powerful, unique skills. The Tughlaq Dynasty, known for its diverse battlefield strategies, also receives two new elephants: a labor elephant that boosts economic development, and a ballista-wielding elephant that offers a new approach to siege warfare.
Each civilization in the Dynasties of the East expansion boasts unique advantages, strategies, and historical flavor, offering players new ways to master the art of war.
