The year is 2033. An entire generation was born and raised underground, and their besieged metro-city stations fight for survival against each other and the terrifying mutants that wait outside. You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire but raised underground. Never having left the city, one fateful event prompts you to set out on a desperate mission into the heart of the metro system to warn the remnants of humanity of a terrible impending threat.

Your journey will take you from the forgotten catacombs beneath the metro to the desolate wastelands above, where your actions will determine the fate of humanity. But what if the real threat comes from within?
