The Colonial Conquest is a conquest simulator, the action of which takes place in the Victorian era of wars and the expansion of the late 1800s - early 1900s. The purpose of the game is to become a dominant large power throughout the world. Players can become one of the six great powers of that time: Great Britain, Germany, France, the USA, Japan or Russia.

In the world there are about 130 regions open to conquest. The regions have variable values ​​of income and VP (set randomly in the standard scenario) and are unknown until they are conquered or begin to spy on them. Each region, not belonging to a large power, usually has an independent secondary country that owns and protects it.
Each large country is controlled by a player or computer, or has a neutral status and acts as a secondary country.
It is possible to play the Hotseat mode with the possibility of limiting playing time up to 4.00 minutes per player.
Each game move is about one season.
