Description:
The F40PHL-2 diesel locomotive is ideal for passenger transportation in the sunny southern It is now available for Train Simulator with two-level passenger cars and a controlled headcar. The F40PHL-2 is one of the most unique and interesting locomotives in the USA. Although it is similar in design and purpose to the famous Electro-Motive F40PH diesel, the F40PHL-2 model was specially built in 1988 for the Tri-Rail passenger agency of South Florida by Morrison-Knudsen, which is also known as the construction and engineering company that implemented such famous infrastructure projects as the Hoover Dam and the Transacad Pipeline System.. The F40PHL-2 was built on the chassis of decommissioned Conrail GP40 locomotives with 3,200 hp Electro-Motive 645 series diesel engines and EMD Dash 2 electronics. The 645 series engine provides power for both traction and the HEP generator, which supplies electricity to the train. To give the unique diesels a stylish look, Morrison-Knudsen used the cabs and bodies of former Burlington Northern F45 locomotives. With five F40PHL-2 locomotives, Tri-Rail began passenger service on the Miami—West Palm Beach route in January 1989. Initially, the train used two-level passenger cars and lead cars built by Bombardier, purchased from GO Transit in Canada. The EMD F40PHL-2 for Train Simulator is available in Miami Commuter Rail paint and is equipped with dynamic braking, fog lights and lighting devices. Two-level Bombardier passenger carriages with a view from the window and a steerable lead carriage are also included. The locomotive is compatible with Quick Drive, which gives you the ability to drive the Miami locomotive on any route that supports Quick Drive for Train Simulator, including routes available via Steam. Scenarios specially created for the Miami — West Palm Beach route are also included (available separately and required to play these scenarios). Scenarios: Three scenarios for the Miami — West Palm Beach route: Capital of Latin America: Part 1 Capital of Latin America: Part 2 Shuffle to the Shuttle More scenarios are available in Steam Workshop online and in the game.
