Description:
Meet the exciting route of the Ligne Grande Vitesse (LGV) network with the famous TGV® Duplex high-speed train: Marseille Saint-Charles - Avignon-TGV for Train Simulator. The construction of the LGV Méditerranée began in 1996. The route was developed as a dedicated 160-mile high-speed line connecting southeastern France with its capital, Paris. It starts from the end of the LGV Rhône-Alpes line in Valencia, passes through Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, and ends in Marseille. The LGV Méditerranée was opened in 2001 and is operated by SNCF®, which uses high-speed TGV Duplex trains powered by a 25 kV AC contact network and capable of speeds up to 320 km/h. These revolutionary high-speed trains have significantly reduced travel time to the southern coast of France. Most of its routes, which average 750 km (470 miles), are covered by TGVs in about 3 hours, which is faster than by plane. The route serves 4 specially designed stations. Gare de Valence TGV is a unique multi-level station that makes it easy to transfer between high-speed and local trains. Gare d´Avignon TGV is famous for its proximity to the Avignon city center. Gare d´Aix-en-Provence TGV is located so that you can easily get to Marseille and its airport, to which a bus runs from the station. Marseille-Saint-Charles Main Station was originally built to serve the surrounding areas and the French Riviera, and classic railway lines are also suitable for the station. Due to the terrain features of the southern part of France, the route contains many steep ascents and descents, not to mention a huge number of depressions, viaducts, and an 8 km (5 mi) tunnel. You can enjoy spectacular views of the LGV Med route from a double-decker train traveling at speeds of 300 - 320 km/h, providing fast and reliable transportation through the south of France. The route is equipped with the TVM430 (Transmission Voie-Machine) system, the latest locomotive signaling system designed specifically for high-speed highways with high traffic density. The classic traffic light alarm system is not very convenient for high-speed routes, as the driver has too little time to see the traffic light flashing outside the window and react to it correctly. The TVM430 screen is installed in the cab and transmits information about the maximum permissible speed to the driver without the need to install conventional traffic lights along the way. The addition includes the 100-kilometer Marseille -Avignon high-speed section, as well as the TGV Duplex in SNCF paint.
