A charge q is uniformly distributed on a conductor in the form of a ring of radius a. Find the zero potential at an arbitrary point on the axis of the conductor, spaced at a distance x from the plane in which the conductor lies. Using the relationship between potential and intensity, find the field strength at this point. Compare with Problem 4.11.
