Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a first-person shooter computer game, the seventeenth in the Call of Duty franchise and the fifth main game in the Black Ops story subseries. The game is a sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game was released on November 13, 2020 on the platforms PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, with a release on next-generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X planned later.
The plot of Black Ops Cold War takes place in the early 1980s, during the Cold War between the USSR and the USA. The plot follows CIA officer Russell Adler as he pursues Perseus, an alleged Soviet spy whose stated goal is to overthrow the United States and tilt the balance of power towards the Soviet Union.
