After a huge ore-mining spaceship stumbles upon a strange artifact on a distant planet, communication with it is severed. Engineer Isaac Clarke is sent to fix the breakdown, but upon arriving at the scene, he discovers traces of a nightmarish bloody massacre - the ship´s crew has been slaughtered and infected with an alien disease. Isaac is cut off from the outside world, locked on a ship and forced to desperately fight for his life.
