The story tells how a company of Kazan students in 1911 traveled to St. Petersburg for the Highest review of the "amusing" held on the Field of Mars. The parade was hosted by Tsar Nicholas II.
The story is based on real events. The story is described in the memoirs of Gerasimov Alexey Andreevich "Autobiography, memories, reflections for 1896-1959", who was a participant in this event."
