For the Great Devourer comes.
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius Expansion - Tyranids - introduces a new playable race to the battle for Gladius Prime! Featuring numerous new mechanics and features, this is a completely different faction to any other in the game. The Tyranids´ special traits provide new ways to achieve victory. They are a ravenous, hungry swarm. They will devour Gladius Prime!
Eternal Hunger
The Tyranid race travels between the stars, systematically devouring anything that contributes to its rapid evolution and reproduction...so it can destroy its enemies even more. On Gladius, the Tyranid faction specializes in extracting biomass from enemies, its own units, and even consuming the biomass of tiles, turning them into rock.
Devouring Swarm
For the Tyranids, staying in one place is death. They devour everything and move on. Even their "cities" are collectives of disposable megafauna creatures, reabsorbed into the swarm once their tasks have been served and local resources have been exhausted.
Hive Mind
The Hive Mind is the Tyranid race´s form of consciousness, controlling its creations through an all-pervasive psychic network generated by alpha creatures such as Hive Tyrants and Warriors. However, if Tyranid forces fall outside its control, they become rabid beasts, prowling savages that attack their own kind and foes alike.
Biological Horrors
Tyranid units are monstrosities adapted by the Norn Queens by consuming the DNA of their enemies. Many of their units, from the mighty Tervigons and Trygons to the man-sized Gormagaunts and Termagants, can adapt to the traits of their current foes,/attention/delivery
