7. A dosage form of individual manufacture was received for analysis:
Furacilina 0.02
Sodium chloride 0.8
a) Give the structural formula, chemical and Latin names of furacilin.
b) Give the reactions of testing the authenticity of furacilin with a solution of sodium hydroxide, complex formation with a solution of copper (II) sulfate, formation of an azo dye.
c) Give the reaction equations for the quantitative determination of furacilin by iodometry, the indicator used, the method of fixing the equivalence point.
A portion of the powder weighing 0.1215 was placed in a flask with a capacity of 250 ml, 2 g of sodium chloride, 150 ml of water were added and dissolved by heating in a water bath, cooled. 5 ml of the obtained solution was taken into a 50 ml flask, 5 ml of sodium hydrochloride solution and 5 ml of 0.01 N iodine solution were added. Calculate the volume of 0.01 N sodium thiosulfate solution (K=1.00) that will be used to titrate excess iodine.
