The Celtic Culture expansion adds three new factions to play in Total War: ATTILA. Picts, Caledonians, and Ebdans can be used in single player and online campaigns, as well as custom battles and online battles.
As Western Roman influence wanes in the British Isles, these fierce tribes are ready to declare independence and reclaim their ancestral lands. But while the empire retreats, others begin to look at the Cassiterids (Tin Islands). The warlords of Germany and the northern regions look to the northwest and see a trophy worth fighting for...
Cultural features (Celts)
Celtic troops specialize in ambushing enemies and have the "Autonomy" trait. It allows the Celts to deploy any of their troops almost anywhere on the battlefield - even behind enemy lines. Celtic warriors are narrow specialists, so don´t expect them to handle every situation. But an experienced commander will let them show their strengths and strike a mortal blow.
Where is the best place to apply these features, if not in robberies, robberies and raids? For the Celts, these are the main sources of income, which is reflected in many aspects of the style of play for them and in the bonuses received.
Unique campaign with a single story: The Saga of the Ollam King
When playing as these factions, the player gains access to a new series of events with a single storyline. The Saga of the Ollam King draws heavily on Celtic mythology and puts you in control of an illustrious hero, periodically making choices as the story progresses. Toward the end of the story, the Allam King becomes available to you as the commander of your army, with decisions made earlier determining the traits he gets.
Celtic troops
All three factions have a single list of troops for the Celts, consisting of various types of troops of three ranks. These are, for example, spearmen with hounds (formidable war dogs), heavy cavalry of Mormars and servants of Skatakh - elite light infantry. In addition to the general roster, each faction has its own troops.
Unique buildings
The resourceful Celts benefit from a unique agricultural chain that does not depend on fertility. The paddocks can be upgraded to Animal Farms, and then to the Summer Pasture, obtaining self-sufficient herds of cattle.
Another highlight of the Celtic factions is the new strike chain, which provides a unique playstyle. Raider Rally Upgrades to Raider Gathering, Raider Camp, and finally Raider Halls.
New Mechanic: Prestige Buildings
The Celtic Culture expansion adds three new rank 5 buildings that are unlocked through new gameplay mechanics. The Bardic Hall, Temple of Belen, and the Central Market provide significant bonuses, and therefore, in order to open them, along with technological requirements, the player must fulfill certain requirements of the gameplay, having performed great deeds in the field of religion, trade, and military affairs.
