He was born in Stagira, a Greek city on the eastern coast of the peninsula of Halkidiki. His father Nicomachus was the court physician and personal friend of the Macedonian king Amyntas II, and their children the same age, Aristotle and the young heir to the throne, Philip, do not just spend time together. When Aristotle was 15, his father died, he was appointed guardian of his uncle proxy, which, perhaps, Aristotle spoke about Plato and his Academy. In 17 years, I came to Athens and 367 347 was in Plato´s Academy, first on the rights of the student, and then - as a teacher. After the death of Plato goes from Athens and almost 14 years (347-334) spent in wanderings. The most significant episode of this period is his pedagogical work with the heir to the Macedonian throne, Alexander, son of Philip of Macedon (with 343/342 at 340/39). In 334 Aristotle returned to Athens and founded his own school of philosophy - Likey. He died of illness in exile, before leaving Athens threatened by antimakedonskoy minded public. According to his will, he was buried in his native Stagira.
