Dawn of the Samurai is a new campaign for Total War: SHOGUN 2.
The new campaign recreates the events that took place 400 years before the civil war that forms the basis of the plot of SHOGUN 2. Dawn of the Samurai tells the story of the Gempei War - a conflict between the six houses of the Taira, Minamoto and Fujiwara clans, which led to the formation of the first shogunate and the establishment of the samurai as the ruler class.
• Play the new campaign for SHOGUN 2, set in 12th century Japan. The Dawn of the Samurai campaign is designed for both single player and collective modes - against each other or cooperatively.
• 3 new families consisting of 6 houses. Each house has its own set of features that determine the style of play.
• 16 new types of ground troops - swordsmen, archers, spearmen and cavalry.
• 4 heroes - sohei with naginata, sohei with tetsubo, mounted samurai and onna-bugeisha. Onna-bugeisha - these bow-wielding, naginata-wielding horsewomen are deadly in close combat. Never underestimate women... Sohei with tetsubo - huge clubs studded with steel spikes become deadly weapons in the hands of ferocious warrior monks.
• 10 new types of ships with 3 new abilities (“Banzai!”, “Whistling Arrows” and “Gathering Troops”).
• 4 new agents with unique abilities:
The main talent of a shirabyoshi is considered to be seduction. Such a lovely dancer can convince anyone to come over to your side. In addition, shirabyoshi can entertain nobles, increasing the growth rate of allied cities. Friendly military leaders are not left unattended either - shirabyoshi are able to dance for them right on the battlefield, thereby increasing their loyalty and at the same time fighting the influence of enemy agents.
Junsatsushi maintain the loyalty and discipline of our military leaders, increase household income, and fight corruption. In addition, their responsibilities include protecting the cities and armies under which they are located from enemy sabotage. One of the main advantages of junsatsushi is the ability to win over neutral and enemy cities along with garrisons, as well as bribe enemy agents.
Monomi are murderers, spies, saboteurs, and scouts. In addition, they can create criminal networks in castle cities, which in turn expands the radius of vision throughout your province.
Sou are capable of converting people to Buddhism, inspiring friendly armies, and pacifying disgruntled subjects. Excellent orators, among other things, they can demoralize the enemy, thwart a planned bribe, convince an enemy agent to retire, or sow confusion in an enemy province.
• New historical scenario - Battle of Anegawa (1570)
